Every winter, straight-laced, Ivy League bound Evan looks forward to a visit from Lucy, a childhood pal who moved away after her parent’s divorce. But when Lucy arrives this year, she’s changed. The former “girl next door” now has chopped dyed black hair, a nose stud, and a scowl. But Evan knows that somewhere beneath the Goth, “Old Lucy” still exists, and he’s determined to find her… even if it means pissing her off.
Garden State meets Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist in this funny and poignant illustrated novel about opposites who fall in love.
I’m currently going through a contemporary-YA phase, mostly because paranormal stories stress me out when I read them one after another. Slice-of-life and simple (i.e. no crazy twists and deus ex machinas popping out of nowhere) love stories like Winter Town are exactly what I’m looking for. Plus, isn’t that cover look incandescent?

I’m getting into contemporary literature. I guess you can only read so much paranormal romances

Oh never heard of this one! I sometimes need a change from paranormals as well. I find there’s lot of repetition and get annoyed with them and suddenly start rating them 1-2stars haha.
